THUNDERFOOT SPORTS

Advertising, Sponsorship & Affiliate Disclosure

Thunderfoot Sports may earn revenue through advertising, sponsorships, featured placements, affiliate relationships and other commercial partnerships. This page explains how we identify those relationships and protect editorial independence.

Last updated: September 16, 2026

Our standard: if money, free products, free access, discounts, commissions or another material benefit could affect how a reasonable reader views a recommendation or placement, Thunderfoot intends to disclose that relationship clearly.

Sponsored Content

Thunderfoot may publish sponsored articles, destination features, event campaigns or other paid content. Sponsored material will be identified with clear language such as “Sponsored,” “Paid Partnership,” “Presented by,” or similar wording that communicates the commercial relationship.

A sponsor may help fund a piece of content, but payment does not guarantee a positive review, favorable ranking or editorial conclusion.

Featured Listings and Tool Placements

Some businesses, events, venues, destinations or organizations may pay for enhanced visibility inside a Thunderfoot finder, map, directory, guide or category page. Paid placements should be labeled in a way that distinguishes them from ordinary editorial or database listings.

Examples may include:

Featured PartnerA paid placement or enhanced listing associated with a Thunderfoot partnership.
SponsoredContent or placement funded in whole or in part by an advertiser or partner.
Paid PartnershipA commercial collaboration between Thunderfoot and the identified organization.

Affiliate Links

Thunderfoot may use affiliate links in future articles, guides or recommendations. If a reader clicks an eligible affiliate link and completes a purchase, Thunderfoot may receive a commission or referral fee without increasing the reader’s purchase price.

When affiliate links are used in editorial content, Thunderfoot intends to place a clear disclosure near the relevant recommendation or links. A general policy page alone is not intended to replace an appropriate disclosure within the content itself.

Example language may include: “Thunderfoot may earn a commission from purchases made through links in this article.”

Free Products, Tickets, Access and Hosted Experiences

From time to time, a business or organization may provide Thunderfoot with complimentary products, tickets, admission, lodging, meals, access or other benefits. When that relationship is relevant to content or a recommendation, we intend to disclose it clearly.

Receiving something for free does not guarantee coverage or favorable treatment.

Reviews, Rankings and Recommendations

Thunderfoot does not sell favorable editorial reviews or rankings. A company may purchase advertising or a clearly identified featured placement, but that commercial relationship should not determine independent editorial conclusions.

Where a list, ranking or recommendation includes a paid partner, the paid status should be disclosed when a reasonable reader might otherwise misunderstand the relationship.

Newsletter Sponsorships

The Thunderfoot Weekend and other Thunderfoot email products may include paid sponsor placements. Sponsor content will be identified as advertising, sponsored content or similar language so readers can distinguish it from editorial material.

Thunderfoot does not provide advertisers with private newsletter-subscriber information simply because they sponsor an email. See our Privacy Policy for information about how personal information is handled.

Event and Directory Listings

Thunderfoot may include businesses, venues, schools, races, events and attractions in our planning tools without payment. Inclusion in a database or directory does not by itself mean that the organization is a sponsor.

If an organization pays for enhanced prominence, additional promotional treatment or a featured designation, we intend to identify that paid relationship.

Social Media

Thunderfoot social posts may also be sponsored or contain affiliate relationships. When a material relationship exists, the disclosure should appear in the social post itself using clear language appropriate to the platform.

Editorial Independence

Thunderfoot partnerships are designed around relevance to the reader’s intent. We may decline sponsorships or placements that do not fit the site’s audience, undermine usability or create an unacceptable conflict with editorial coverage.

Partners do not receive the right to approve unrelated editorial coverage about themselves or their competitors unless a specific sponsored-content arrangement clearly provides review for factual accuracy or required brand/legal information.

Corrections and Questions

If you believe a sponsored relationship, affiliate link or paid placement is not labeled clearly enough, please tell us through Contact Thunderfoot.

Changes to This Disclosure

Thunderfoot’s revenue model may expand as the site grows. We may update this disclosure when new advertising, affiliate or partnership programs are introduced.
